Kris has almost given up.  Everyone has been split up for there own good and Kris abandoned on a planet in the back ends of nowhere, overseeing a trumped up mission to keep her occupied.  When her old mates decide its time to break her out, she is reluctant until she finds out dear Grandpa Al is getting involved in politics.  After reuniting with her love Jack and narrowly escape being poisoned, Kris lets herself be taken to New Japan to stand trial for her part in the deaths of those who followed her on the exploratory mission.

 

Each day reveals new things hidden by the governments and companies who want to try to profit from the new found hostile aliens.  When the trial is over and Kris shows everyone what the aliens are really like, it is a race against time to stop a greedy group from exposing humanity to its worst enemy yet.

 

I really enjoy the Kris Longknife series.  Each book is filled with improbable situations with improbably outcomes.  They are always filled with excitement and a new situation to keep you reading.  Sure, it might not be plausible, but it is fun to read!
